It's common knowledge that orders may change from month to month. In order to keep your supplier prepared for larger-than-normal orders, let your Account Manager know that you’re expecting an increase in demand as early as possible. This helps to ensure that they're not only prepared to handle an exceedingly large order but also prepared to do so as quickly as possible.

Utilize a Blanket Purchase Order:

A blanket purchase order will allow your supplier to plan capacity and allow for a smooth delivery schedule. The manufacturer won't ship the parts until they are given a 'release' date to ship. Another advantage is that a blanket purchase order for a large number of units can trigger a volume discount and lock in the unit pricing.
